Camp Jelkie
day two of camp jelkie...
2nd day of no alcohol
writing
drawing
working
silence
i visited the detention centre yesterday for the first time...isn't it peculiar...that people can seem so happy, so free behind razor wire and tall fences?
the people here are great. as soon as i arrived i felt as though i had been living in this camp for months on end. my room is 2 x 2 with a small bathroom
i have foxtel and an extremely loud air conditioner.
it was 2 degrees last night.
it gets down to minus 5 next month
my fear at this point in time is that i have not brought enough warm clothes...
i must admit that being so far away from civilisation makes me extremely happy. without the slighest hint of melancholy i can see myself being here for weeks without beeping boo to anyone i know.
i must remind myself to tell my folks i am alive
i started working out in the gym yesterday. got hot and thought twice about taking my jumper off. i suppose the guys here would freak if i display my armpitts
